Designing for your workplace

Many small and medium sized businesses work in environments that have hastily been brought together at the outset of the company when there is no budget for office interiors.  Sometimes it falls to what’s available at the local second-hand shop or from the stationery catalogue.  There is nothing wrong with this in truth, but what is missing is the analysis of how people and teams work to complete their tasks.  How do employees file and retrieve information?  Are people sitting comfortably or do they suffer from back problems and therefore have time off sick?
